It’s easy to make the mistake of putting plaster powder first in your mixing container, or dumping it in water all at once, BUT Amy can help you prevent that by sharing her simple plaster prep hack in this post.

Materials Needed:

- One-part water

- One-part Venetian plaster powder

- Stir stick or paddle drill attachment

- Mixing container

How To Achieve Perfect Plaster Consistency for Marbling

Step 1: Put water in your container first

Step 2: Add a little bit of the Venetian plaster powder
Amy’s Tip: Don’t dump all of it at once.

Step 3: Mix it up using your stir stick or paddle drill attachment

Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you get to one-part water and one-part plaster

Step 5: Blend it really well to achieve sour-cream consistency
